If you’ve ever had an automobile painted—or painted one yourself—you know it can be a very laborious process. Many people think that getting your car or truck painted is a one step process, but that just isn’t true; it’s a multi-step process, one that we’ve mastered here at Champion Chevrolet of Howell.
The first big step is to make sure we have a solid, rust-free auto body to work with. But that can be more challenging than it might sound. Vehicles exposed to the elements—rain, snow, sleet and so on—can develop rust in areas where the metal is unprotected, and the salt found on roadways in the wintertime can speed up the rusting process.
At Champion Chevrolet of Howell, our team of professionals go about removing every trace of rust from the vehicle to be painted. We do this by either replacing the compromised sections with expertly welded patches or by replacing the entire panel in question. These methods are also used if a vehicle has sustained body damage as the result of a collision, and if the damaged section cannot be remedied by simply pulling the dent out.
The next step in the process is for body shop technicians to sand the vehicle’s body to ensure that the car’s panels look straight. This stage is important because it is the final step before actually applying paint. And speaking of applying paint, this is where the expertise of the auto body painters at Champion Chevrolet of Howell come into play. The quickest, surest way to get a bad or mediocre paint job is to use inexperienced technicians. That’s never a concern with us because we only employ the very best. Without a doubt, we are the most professional body repair shop in the Howell area, and we’d love to paint your car or truck.
