Powering the 2025 Ram 1500 is the new twin-turbo inline-six “Hurricane” engine, delivering either 420 or 540 horsepower, depending on the trim level. The truck features a new high torque rear axle to enhance ride quality and offers the choice between 2WD or 4WD configurations. With a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,300 pounds when properly equipped, the Ram 1500 demonstrates exceptional towing prowess. Standard coil springs ensure a smooth ride, while the optional air suspension and adjustable ride height enhance off-road capabilities.
The 2025 Ram 1500 is equipped with a range of advanced technology features, including a 12.0-inch or 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Trailer Reverse Steering Control, and a navigation system. Additionally, the truck offers a suite of safety features such as Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Hands-Free Driving Assist.
The standout feature of the 2025 Ram 1500 pickup is its new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engines, set to replace the Hemi V8. Dubbed “SST” (Straight-Six Turbo) engines by Ram, they come in regular- and high-output versions, delivering 420 hp with 469 lb-ft of torque or a robust 540 hp and 521 lb-ft. In comparison, the outgoing 5.7-liter Hemi eTorque V8 offered just 395 hp and 410 lb-ft.
Ram’s 2025 1500 now has a luxurious Tungsten trim with quilted leather upholstery, 24-way adjustable seats with massage function, and a suede headliner. If you seek a balanced option, go for the Laramie or Rebel trims. The Rebel is ideal for off-road enthusiasts.
Adapting to changing trends in the auto industry, Ram is phasing out the optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine from the Ram 1500 lineup. The Pentastar V6 engine will now serve as the base engine with Ram introducing two optional inline-six engines known as the Hurricane, delivering impressive performance ranging from 420 to 540 horsepower. The high-output variant boasts an additional 30 horsepower attributed to a slight uptick in engine speed.
Irrespective of the engine choice, all three options come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the maximum towing capacity now stands at 11,580 pounds, the maximum payload remains steady at 2,300 pounds.
